Behind the Debate: A Project in Progress
May have messed up a little... but read on for Episode 2!
Hey!
First of all, an enormous thank you to everyone who's supported my journey so far — your encouragement means the world to me. I’m genuinely grateful that so many of you think the State of the Debate is worth your time. If you’re enjoying the episodes, clippings, or shorts, I’d love it if you shared the Substack and YouTube with your friends and followers. Let’s build a truly global community ready to engage in bold, honest conversations about the issues shaping our world 🌍
Quick ask: Over 70% of those watching aren’t subscribed — so if you haven’t yet, hit that subscribe button!
Also… encouraging more women to tune in would be great too!
🎙️ Episode 2 Preview
So here’s the situation… You might remember I sent out a poll to decide on Episode 2’s focus — but due to a glitch, the results vanished 😭 (Tech: 1, Me: 0). That said, last time I checked, the front-runner was a topic that gets deep:
🔍 International Organisations:
💣 Are international organisations like the UN still powerful forces of progress — or polite spectators trapped in bureaucracy?
🧬 Is the nation-state an outdated relic? Has globalisation quietly rewritten the rules of sovereignty?
🧭 Are we heading for a truly multipolar world — and if so, who’s rising, who’s fading, and what does history tell us about shifting power?
💭 I want your thoughts! If any of these questions spark something in you — or if you’ve got a unique angle, source, or spicy hot take — drop it in the comments!
🗓️ A Quick Note on Future Episodes
Running the State of the Debate has been energising, but also seriously time-consuming — and I’m juggling a lot right now. So, after some reflection, I’ve decided to shift the rhythm a bit…
🎥 Full episodes will now drop fortnightly instead of weekly — giving me space to maintain the quality and depth you’ve come to expect.
💬 In the meantime, you’ll still see regular shorts and podcast clips where I react to your comments and tackle new questions (remember to send them in!)
📝 Plus, I’ll be writing here more often — expect fresh takes, sharp blog posts, and raw reflections on society, politics, and the global landscape (and maybe some personal updates too!)
Thanks for sticking with me as this project evolves. Your engagement keeps it alive — and I genuinely can’t wait to see where we take it next!!!
